Lyss Loves: What’s Haute in Home Decor

We might be in the middle of winter, but that doesn’t mean you have to keep hibernating in a sad house. Heading into February, it’s important to start thinking about how you can get into the spring spirit when the sun begins to come out from hiding. Since spring is the best season of the year (boy bai, fall.), it’s time to start acting like we’re excited. Because we are. I am. You are. We are all stoked for spring. Now, check out the first “Lyss Loves” article, where I’m sharing my picks as they relate to what’s hot in home decor. Consider me your cool but approachable industry insider that’s just tryin’ to help a sista out. I got’chu, gurl.

As we coast through one more month of cooler weather (consider that a threat, Mr. Groundhog), it’s easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Can you envision it? I’m looking out of the tunnel right now, and it looks glorious. It’s green with pops of pink, and the sun is shining. It’s spring out there!

So, what does that mean for our dreary winter tones that are dying to be shed? It means we need to start getting creative. It means it’s time for some color, babes, and manifesting some good vibes within your dwelling. Because depressing shit is just not fun.

Ready to give your home a serious roundhouse kick? Cool, me too. Mostly because I want to try to do a roundhouse kick. But also style and stuff.

What’s Hot in Home Decor, You Ask?

Your surroundings have a huge impact on the way you feel internally. That’s why Feng Shui is such a thing. And while I could give you some Feng Shui tips, I’ll save that knowledge for another time (seriously, I know some people who are licensed in that stuff). This post is all about what’s pretty and what will freshen your atmosphere when you need it the most. So, here’s the home decor you need right meow.

SIMPLE & SEXY.

This side table is a must for your tired living room or home office. The clean lines are hella chic and won’t overwhelm a room that’s already got a lot goin’ on. Come on, you know you need a new place to rest your Pinot while you guilt-watch The Bachelor.  You can get it here.

WHIMSY ME.

Y so srs? Bring some whimsy into your life with this playful mirror, which comes in other fun hues like pink, orange, and gray for you monochromers out there. I specifically love this whimsical oval mirror to bring some character to a gallery wall. Also, did you know mirrors make your space seem bigger? Yeah. Mirrors should be your BFFs. Check out the options for this one here.

SUSPENDED SUCCULENTS.

Succulents are all the rage these days, mostly because they look gorgeous in Instagram posts, but also because they’re nearly impossible to kill. To take things up a notch (literally), hang your pretty plants from the ceiling to create dimension. Couple these cute terrariums in a corner for fab effect. Buy ’em here.

BURSTING WITH PANACHE.

Sometimes you just need to change out your decor. Luckily, this burst decorative ball is both stylish and functional. It adds liveliness to any empty space, and it also fends off frenemies with its potentially dangerous spikes. I’d advise you keep this high enough out of children’s reach, because, you know, the spikes. Buy it here for either defense or panache purposes.

POSITIVITY, PLEASE.

For a little reminder that not all things are bad, freshen your mindset with this text-art. Hang it in your room, on a gallery wall, in your area of creative stimulation, or in your meditation/yoga room. Buy it here.

Which of these stylish home decor items is your favorite? Any you plan on purchasing? I have a hard time resisting new home decor, but I’ve got to wait just a little longer until I have a new home to put it all in! Soon, though. Soon.
